I hope that you are enjoying your break and your time with family and friends! Please remember that you have your fraction project and your paper due next Wednesday - no excuses!!

Also, you need to have your 600 pages read by Wednesday, January 16th. This shouldn't be a problem if you have been reading at least twenty minutes each night.

I can't wait to get back to school and hear your stories! See you next week :)

This week is our final push before break and we have been working hard on our fraction project and persuasive writing. Students are learning to use their time wisely and how to balance their time with two projects. 

In the event of a snow day - I will allow their projects to be due the day we come back from break. I expect them to be turned in that day without any exceptions since they will have had break to finish what they needed. Now that we are almost half-way through the school year I expect the students to work hard to produce well done assignments instead of excuses. 

If you have questions about either of the projects please look at our math page and our persuasive essay unit page first. After looking there, I will be happy to answer any other questions that you may have! 

Hello All!

I thought I'd post a blog about what will be happening tentatively before Christmas break!

This week: 

• Math - Finishing up with our fractions unit by having our test on Thursday and then on Friday we will start a fraction project!
• Writing - Continuing to work on our persuasive essay that will be due NEXT FRIDAY (December 21st)
• Science - Classifying plants and animals
• Reading - We just introduced our newest Daily 4 Station - "Listen to Reading". It was a huge hit and you can keep your eyes out for new books in the bin :) 

• THURSDAY - Please remember that we have our Holiday Concert! Plan on being in Miss. Brown's room at 6:45. I plan on being here earlier and can always help with homework :) 

Next week:

The end of the first quarter is already next week, November 1st! Please check out your grades before Friday at noon to see if I have everything entered and that they are correct. I make mistakes just like you and would like to catch any before Friday. 

If you think I have made a mistake please let me know in writing! 

If there is a grade that you don't like please schedule a time to meet with me to discuss why it is what it is and what we can do about it.

Since the website is taking off with parents and students I wanted to create a blog so we can all be on the same page and have open communication! :)
